Registry Easy

Registry Easy is sort of the “New Kid On The Block” and has a smaller , but growing following!  It is designed for use with all recent releases of the Windows operating systems.  As I put Registry Easy to the test I found it to be definitely one of the best registry tools available on the market today.

•Compatibility –Registry Easy has been designed so that it works on Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP and Vista.

•Features and Functions – Although not packed with a lot of bells and whistles, there are still a lot of additional tools that are designed to put your Windows registry back in order.

•Back-up and Restore – Registry Easy ensures that a
back-up and restore point is easy to create, prior to any repair being undertaken, all designed for added safety.

•High Performance Scan – Registry Easy has a very efficient and thorough scan mechanism looking for problems throughout the Windows Registry.

•System Optimization –Registry Easy was designed to
greatly improve the performance of your computer’s system. It includs tools that organize the Startup Menu, as well as a program manager.  These tools will
ensure that your computer will run at optimized speeds!

• Duplicate File Cleaner – This is a  recent addition to Registry Easy, the duplicate file cleaner is a tool that does exactly that,removes files that have been replicated within the Windows registry and greatly slowing down your computer.

The Test Results
It is simple enough to download Registry Easy from the company’s homepage, and it  can be set up with a few clicks of a mouse. Also, you can do a Free Scan on the same site that will allow your Windows registry to be checked for potential errors. Once set up you will enjoy the very simple interface that is extremely easy to use. Undertaking a scan of your computer can be done with a simple click of one button. Following the completion of the scan a list of errors is produced and then either an automatic or manual repair of the  errors can be done. I opted for the “Automatic” repair and it was completed quickly! My results clearly showed that once I had restarted my computer, it ran much faster! All error messages were gone!

Additional Observations
Registry Easy had one great additional feature and that was the back-up and repair feature. With this feature you will never have to fear that the removal of a registry item will damage your computer!

The Verdict
The results of our testing has clearly shown that Registry Easy is a very good and simple to use registry cleaner and will quickly scan through and repair your damaged Windows registry. It isn't the fanciest on the market, but you will definitely see that it will speed up your computer! Registry Easy has the added safety features of  “back-up’ and “restore” that really helps to round out this great software. Registry Easy is an extremely effective registry cleaner, is easy to use, and at a price of $31.59 it is a great value! Registry Easy is our 1ST choice!

RegTool is easy to use and has enough extra tools included to bring your computer back to optimum speeds by cleaning and organizing your Windows registry.

• Software Designer – RegTool is one of several products put out by this software developer and although they are not yet well known their products are starting to be because they work in varying degrees.

• Features and Functions – RegTool includes the basic features and some very cool new features that I will discuss below.  

• Back-up –  RegTool includes the “back-up” and “restore” features that allows the Windows registry to be totally backed up, so that it can be restored in case there is a problem when the Windows registry is being fixed.

• Custom Scan – By selecting the category you want, the industry-leading RegTool scanning engine will find out and list the detected problems for you.

The Test Results
I bought and downloaded RegTool directly from the company’s website, purchasing the full version, rather than just testing the free scan tool. Installation was easy and I was ready to scan in minutes.

The scan was pretty fast and I realized enhanced computer speeds after the numerous fixes.

Additional Observations
In my opinion RegTool is very good software and comes very close to our #1 choce, Registry Easy.
 
The Verdict
Prior to doing this registry cleaner review I had used Registry Easy and really liked how it worked and after trying RegTool I found it similar, so the real difference between the two products is how the various tools are bundled and the interface layout, but this is just a personal preference. For ease of use, effectiveness  and a price of $31.98 ...RegTool is my 2nd choice, but very, very, close to my 1st choice!

ErrorFix

Platform:    Windows Vista / 2000 / XP / ME / 98.

ErrorFix is a comparatively simple registry cleaner.  Simple isn’t always a bad thing and in the case of ErrorFix it is actually a good thing as long as the software does what it is supposed to. I did an actual test with this software and you can see what I found out below.

• Software Designer – Error Fix is a stand-alone product and although popular the software developer is not well known as far as I could find.

• Compatibility –ErrorFix has been designed and developed to ensure that it will work on Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP and Vista.

• Features and Functions – ErrorFix is short in the “bells
and whistles” department, but does include the essentials.

• Back-up –  ErrorFix includes the important “back-up” and “undo” features that allows the Windows registry to be totally backed up, so that it can be restored in the unlikely event that there is a problem when the Windows registry is being fixed.

• Custom Scan – Although most people will never use the feature. ErrorFix offers the option of customizing the scan. This feature is really for the more advanced computer user who would be able to customize certain features for a faster scan.
 

The Test Results
I bought and downloaded ErrorFix directly from the company’s website, purchasing the full version, rather than just testing the free scan tool. Installation was a breeze and within a few minutes I was using ErrorFix to scan through my Windows registry.

When I started the scan there was a little hesitation, but
things soon speeded up and my Windows registry was scanned in about 2 minutes. The identified errors were pretty comprehensive and all major errors were found. Overall I was satisfied with the results of ErrorFix and my computer was faster and more comparable to the operating speeds of when I first purchased it.

Additional Observations
In my opinion ErrorFix was a little bit short on some features. Although it did have the essential “back up” and “restore” features. If you are really not familiar with software then the basic nature of the software does make it very user friendly!  

The Verdict
Error Fix is truly a basic registry cleaner, but still a pretty
good piece of software. It does rank as one of the top twenty registry cleaners currently available on the market today.  ErrorFix’s scan and repair process is as good as I would expect from a modern registry cleaner.  Although, not as thorough as Registry Easy, but it does an adequate job in improving the performance of a Windows computer. For ease of use and a price of $31.05, that is inline with the market....Error Fix is my 3rd choice.
